The German African Business Summit (GABS) is Germany’s signature business event in Africa. At the GABS, top business and government leaders from Germany and sub-Saharan Africa meet every two years in Africa to discuss and promote economic relations between Europe’s largest economy and the fastest-growing region in the world.
The GABS is organized by the Sub-Saharan Africa Initiative of German Business (SAFRI) and chaired by the SAFRI Chairman, Prof. Dr. Heinz-Walter Große, Chairman of the Board of B. Braun Melsungen AG.
The Sub-Saharan Africa Initiative of German Business (SAFRI) is the voice of German business to policymakers in Germany and the sub-Saharan African region. The objective of SAFRI is to intensify cooperation with the countries of sub-Saharan Africa and to foster mutual trade and investment. SAFRI is supporting the dialogue between German and African business and industry and providing a platform of exchange for German and African partners.
The 3rd GABS 2019, scheduled February 11 to 13, 2019 in Accra is where German and African business interests meet, where economic partnerships between Germany and sub-Saharan Africa are strengthened, and where business trends and market opportunities are explored. Co-organized by SAFRI is a joint initiative of leading business federations – the German-African Business Association (AV), the Federation of German Industries (BDI), the Federation of German Wholesale, Foreign Trade and Services (BGA) and the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK).
