I am absolutely delighted that, in the person of Koyo Kouoh, an African woman has for the first time ever become a member of the largest German intermediary organisation active in the field of international cultural policy.
Koyo Kouoh is a prominent representative of German culture on the international scene, thanks to her work for the German Federal Cultural Foundation, documenta, and above all as the artistic director of RAW Material Company, a key cultural venue in Dakar.
As Minister of State for International Cultural Policy, I welcome her election as an important sign of our country’s cultural opening, reflecting its international responsibility, and as a step fostering an active cultural policy.
