Welcome
'Skills Experts' in Africa program officially launched
AHK Services East Africa LTD is assisting German companies with vocational qualifications to start and execute training courses in Kenya, writes the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Kenya.

With the successful start of a dual training course for chefs and hotel specialists in Kenya, the Skills Expert, sponsored by the German Ministry for Economic Afairs and Energy and the German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK), has started its work.
The initiative promotes dual vocational training abroad based on the German model – through 'Skills Experts', who are based at the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad or Delegations of German Industry and Commerce (AHK).
These experts support the vocational training activities of German companies, their business partners and local vocational schools, and thus help to qualify locally and thus provide the much needed suitably skilled workforce for the companies.
Following the successful launch in Kenya, the AHK offices in Ghana, Nigeria and Southern Africa will also be supported by employing Skills Experts. Well-trained skilled workers provide local employment and growth, encourage direct investments and at the same time increase the attractiveness of the region and the business opportunities of German companies.

Outside Africa, Skills Experts are also active in the AHK offices in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Indonesia, Croatia, Northern Macedonia and Vietnam.
Besides the official launch of the Skills Experts project, the African AHKs, during their meeting in the Kenyan capital Nairobi on March 21 and 22, 2019, also launched the AHK Network for Vocational Education and Training in Sub-Saharan Africa. Its task is to strengthen the network of AHKs in the region on the subject of dual vocational training in order to be able to offer their vocational training services even more precisely.
